In book 2 of the Silver Trilogy, we are fresh off the the fact that Anabel has been locked up in a psychiatric hospital, and Liv now happens to be dating Henry, a very popular and very good-looking boy from school.
And of course there’s a ‘but’…
things are slowly beginning to unravel for Liv. Her sister is doing dangerous things while sleep-walking, Henry has become uncomfortably distant, and suddenly her secrets are beginning to show up on the blog of anonymous school blogger, Secrecy.
With all of these things happening to/around Liv, we can help but wonder if someone is out and get her, and if so, who could it possibly be, and why?
So, Liv continues to be an interesting MC for me. I still love the fact that she is mostly average, but is able to control her dreams, and knows how to open doors to dreams of others. (I just can’t help but enjoy the concept of being so aware in your dream, that you’re able to control it to how you want it to go!)
Timing-wise, the book could be slow at parts and that had me slightly bored, but then something would happen to change my mind! Like the attack of a neighborhood relic and pillar, the topiary peacock Mr. Snuggles. I loved the whole situation that surrounded said topiary, and it certainly highlighted some of humor that was in this story, and you really could tell a person’s demeanor by how they reacted to the peacock’s demise.
The romance wasn’t bad and since it was still in the early stages that has the couple quite infatuated with each other, though there is the usual insecurities. It’s insecurity that torturers Liv, and when she realizes she doesn’t really know much about Henry.
Now, as I come to the end of my review, I wanted to say that I am really looking forward to reading the final book, and to find out who is behind Secrecy!!
